About five days ago, I went to the VA hospital in Dallas to get my hand fixed.
It has been a long journey to get to this point - two long years of tests, procedures, excuses, delays, frustration and depression. During this time, I started to fall apart emotionally because what I felt was one of my only redeeming qualities was being slowly taken from me, day by day, illustration by illustration. No time to rest, needing money to keep us in house and home, so I worked until I could work no more, waiting on the VA to finally authorize my surgery.
So now, while I'm in a fair bit of pain, I feel liberated. Things are looking up, and I'll finally be able to put out more art regularly, to update comics, to finish assignments, to work around the house; to live better.
My wife and I are doing well, and soon will be doing better. I'll be heading out to BABScon in April, along with San Diego Comic Con in July and perhaps a few others after that. Not quite sure yet. I'll have stock of my own work, along with 4DE plushies and perhaps a few other things.
I've also got a few more exciting things in the works that I can't wait to show you after I've healed up. Needless to say, the long drought is almost over.

We moved!
We finally escaped Texas! I'm so happy to be out of that awful state. From the roads to the drivers to having to order basic grocery staples from Amazon, we're glad to be out of there. :noodlefreak88: is now much closer to her family, and can drive maybe 15-20 minutes to see them. That's how far we used to have to drive just to get groceries. Just about everything we need is maybe 3-5 minutes away here, and I couldn't be much happier. The apartments we moved into are really nice, and cheaper than the ones we left. The ones in San Angelo should seriously be condemned, given the water damage, mold, mildew, one of the walls rotting away, insect infestation, gaps and holes all throughout the apartment that pretty much let dust and whatever in and any air conditioning or heating out. The new ones, well, it's been around 30-40 degrees out since we moved here and we haven't had to turn on the heating yet. It's pet-free so there's no neighbors leaving dog and cat food out to attract insects
Update again. Art's slowly starting up again.
Surgeries are done, scars are healing. Now the only issue left is reconditioning the muscles in my drawing arm because it took years to get the surgeries approved, and in that time the muscles I use to draw with atrophied. Drawing and painting for ten hours screwed my arm up for four days so far, but it's getting better. Since I've started getting better, I figured I might as well start putting stuff up again every so often. It'll be sporadic as hell, and bad for any algorithms that demand an inhuman level of productivity to appease them, but it's at least something. Oh, and a lot will likely be palworld girls because I'm a sick, strange little man. You have been warned.

Doing some quick bust commissions, PWYW
I'll be streaming on Twitch, doing pay what you want commissions. They'll be bust-up only, because that's about what I can handle while still recovering from surgery. If you want to join in, just go to https://www.twitch.tv/aphexangel and I'll have paypal/ko-fi info there, as well as current examples I can show. This'll be tonight and tomorrow only, starting now until my body quits.
